Do Minor League Fans Have More Fun?
The Quad Cities River Bandits, a Cardinals Class A Affiliate, recently ran a fan contest for a crazy promotion idea. The 1st place winner, Bandit Wedding, will involve a couple getting married at the park. But my favorite is the 2nd place winner, Van Down By The River, in which an old beat-up van is placed just beyond the stadium’s friendly confines. Fans will win the chance to sit in the van and watch the game, and if a home run ball strikes the van, they’ll share a jackpot. I think Minor League fans do have more fun. What a great promotion. I’ll be see the River Bandits in May, so hopfully they’ll have something wacky going on that night.
